Dr. Banfe ("Banffy" is the correct Hungarian spelling) was brought up with a deep love of animals. His father used to import exotic animals from South America. His mother was enamored with animals and actually raised a baby grizzly bear for a period of time. But dogs have always been his love. He has a good understanding of animal behavior, experience training for agility, about 7 years experience in Schutzhund as a owner/handler. His first schutzhund male, an Ulk Arlett (the legendary 1995 German Sieger World Champion) son from Germany, scored 97 protection, 91 tracking, 90 obedience in his Schutzhund I and “pronounced” in courage and fighting drive. He has had personal training with Jack Schurmann, 1991 Belgian "Sportsman of the Year" and well known Schutzhund trainer. Currently he has begun to offer his services as a behavioral consultant for a local veterinary clinic for problem dogs, especially shepherds.

His training and teaching abilities do not stop with animals. He is currently an associate professor of international business and entrepreneurship at a small private MidWestern University and an avid researcher. He has over 30 years in the martial arts with three black belts and instructor status in Muay Thai. He was coach for a 125 student strong college level kickboxing team. Two of his students made it to the semi finals of the national Bando championship in Columbus, Ohio after only 1 and ½ years of his training. He trained his wife who is also a multiple black belt holder, has fought in the ring, and successfully defended herself on the street from an unfortunate assailant in Washington, DC. He has coached both of his children, Aniko and Peti, in chess and both have won a number of tournaments. His son one the unrated national scholastic championships for his age group and has been placed in the top 100 of the US for his age. For three years he coached chess at the local Christian school.

Dr. Banfe admits that there is a plethora of things to learn about with regards to genetics and breeding, animal behavior, the politics and mechanics of showing and trialing, and the history of the breed, and that he has much to learn. But he believes his experience as a coach in martial arts, an amateur dog trainer, a college professor and father, gives him the skills necessary to commit himself to a successful future of life-long learning about this incredible breed. He has currently committed himself to a rigorous program of research and training. He is committed to his clients both before, during and after the purchase. He has written a number of articles which he provides for clients upon purchase and is dedicated to providing advice on such subjects as raising, feeding and training your new dog.

Additionally, Dr. Banfe believes that as an international business professor, having lived in Europe in Spain, the Czech Republic, Britain, and Hungary, speaking other languages, and travelling quite often to Europe (including Germany and Hungary), combined with his German and Hungarian breeding contacts with top name kennels, allows him to breed and import some of the finest shepherds available and provide his clients with magnificent German Shepherd dogs at fair prices.

Peti (age 15), Aniko (age 8) and Sherrie (not disclosed!!) his beautiful (inside and out) wife are an intimate part of the Banffy Haus kennels. Peti is a budding trainer (attends Schutzhund training), Aniko the ultimate socializer. His wife Sherrie handles the administrative portion of the business as well as handles all shipping and documentation. The Banfe family is a committed Christian family and the children are home schooled so that the kennel gets constant attention.
